Your personal page, reimagined
A link-in-bio platform that reimagines personal pages as creative, widget-based spaces.
Bento reimagined the link-in-bio concept by turning static lists of links into beautiful, widget-based personal pages. Instead of a plain list, creators could arrange customizable cards — social links, embedded content, images, and more — in a flexible grid layout that reflected their personality and brand. Founded in 2022 by Sélim Benayat and Mugeeb Hassan, the Berlin-based startup raised a $1.6M Seed round led by Sequoia Capital and quickly gained traction among creators and professionals looking for a more expressive alternative to Linktree. In June 2023, Linktree acquired Bento, bringing the team and technology in-house. Bento.me was officially shut down in February 2026.
Bento caught our eye as a beautifully designed alternative in the crowded link-in-bio space. While most competitors offered glorified link lists, Bento let creators build visually stunning personal pages with a widget-based grid system. The Sequoia backing at Seed validated the vision, and Linktree's acquisition just months later confirmed that the product was compelling enough for the market leader to buy rather than build.
Discovery signal: Sequoia Capital backing at Seed stage, rapid creator adoption, unique widget-based design approach in commoditized market
Bento stood out from link-in-bio competitors with its flexible, widget-based grid layout that let creators build visually rich personal pages rather than simple link lists — turning a utility into a creative canvas.
