The platform attracted over 100,000 active book clubs led by authors, BookTokkers, celebrities, and passionate readers. Founded in 2019 by tech industry veteran Padmasree Warrior (former CTO of Cisco and CEO of NIO U.S.), Fable raised $27.25M from Tiger Global, Redpoint Ventures, Breyer Capital, and others before being acquired by Everand (a Scribd company) in June 2025.
