Institutional crypto infrastructure
Prime brokerage platform providing institutional-grade trading, custody, and settlement for digital assets.
Floating Point Group (FPG) is a crypto prime brokerage that drastically simplifies backend operations for institutional investors to deploy cryptocurrency-centric strategies at scale. Founded in 2018 by three MIT alumni — John Peurifoy, Kevin March, and Van Phu — the platform provides secure, insured custody solutions and direct market access to both centralized and decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges. FPG's integrated order and execution management system, combined with Multi-Party Computation-based wallet security, enables hedge funds, asset managers, and foundations to trade, stake, and generate yield efficiently. By 2021, institutional clients had used the platform to trade billions of dollars in cryptocurrencies.
Floating Point Group stood out as an MIT-founded team tackling the fragmented crypto trading infrastructure problem — building the institutional plumbing that hedge funds and asset managers need to trade digital assets at scale. With backing from Naval Ravikant and Coinbase Ventures, they were early to the institutional crypto infrastructure wave.
Discovery signal: MIT founding team pedigree, early Naval Ravikant backing, growing institutional demand for crypto prime brokerage services
FPG uniquely integrates order management, execution, custody, and settlement into a single platform with MPC-based wallet security, providing institutional investors seamless access to both centralized and decentralized exchanges without managing multiple counterparty relationships.
