Data viz for publishers
No-code drag-and-drop data visualizations that let any news publisher embed auto-updating charts from public datasets.
HiGeorge cleans and aggregates thousands of public datasets and transforms them into embeddable, auto-updating data visualizations that any publisher can use with a simple copy-paste. The platform eliminates the need for data engineers in newsrooms by providing a pipeline configuration and visualization builder that non-technical journalists can operate. Partner publishers have seen a 2x increase in pageviews and a 75% increase in session duration from embedded HiGeorge visualizations. The company was born during the pandemic when co-founders Anuj Saigal and Amir Zohrenejad noticed local newsrooms struggling to create localized COVID data visualizations despite the massive public interest. HiGeorge later pivoted to Dataherald, a natural-language-to-SQL API platform.
HiGeorge tackled a real pain point in local journalism — the inability to create compelling data visualizations without dedicated engineering resources. Their approach of pre-aggregating public datasets made data storytelling accessible to any newsroom. The team later pivoted to Dataherald, applying their data expertise to the NL-to-SQL space.
HiGeorge pre-cleans and aggregates public datasets so publishers get auto-updating, embeddable visualizations with zero data engineering — unlike tools like Tableau that require users to bring and prepare their own data.
