The platform allows consumers to verify the credentials and backgrounds of informal gig workers — babysitters, house cleaners, handymen, and other service providers who operate outside major platforms like Uber or Airbnb. Using a streamlined two-step verification process that sources data from official agencies, YourCheck eliminates the complexity and cost of traditional background screening. Founded by a team of University of Michigan MBA and JD graduates, including a former Green Beret with 10 years of Special Forces experience, the company went through the Desai University of Michigan startup accelerator and launched its MVP in August 2020.
