ScribeUp

When was the last time you forgot to cancel a free trial and got charged? ScribeUp helps you sign up for free trials with virtual cards and manage your subscriptions.

⚾ The Elevator Pitch:

Some of us keep paying for unwanted subscriptions for months. Can you confidently tell how many subscription services you pay for?

ScribeUp solves this issue of forgetting free trials and subscriptions with a Chrome extension that gives you non-chargeable, virtual cards. By generating virtual cards via Stripe, ScribeUp manages your free trials and gives you some peace of mind. At the end of the trial, you get a reminder, so you can decide to keep or cancel your free trial. Even if you forget to take action, you still won’t get charged. Your personal credit card stays safe. Finally, it’s all free.

🔍 Our analysis

  1. 🍯 Remember Honey? Is this 2.0
Honey is a famous Chrome extension that racks in millions of dollars a month off of affiliate marketing. They help consumers buy at cheaper prices but at a significantly higher volume ultimately leading to more revenue for sites like Amazon and Ebay. ScribeUp is trying to replicate the end consumer experience by making an easy-to-use chrome extension that just blends in with regular internet actions.
  2. 🤝 Simple but Effective Business Model
Every single person in this business is benefitting. Consumers are getting cheaper subscriptions while producers are getting more signups. By having a positive effect on both sides of the equation, ScribeUp has placed itself in a position where the product’s value is clear. To businesses, they are yet another source of business flow whereas for consumers, they can be looked at as some sort of ‘robinhood of the Internet’.
